Ancient city Teos was located 1 km from SIGACIK a holiday resort/village within the town of Seferihisar which is a slow city in the Turkish Aegean. Teos was among the 12 towns of the Ion League and is supposed to have been built round 1050 B.C.

Dionysos Temple which is the largest of temples built for Dionysos in Anatolia was built by Hermogenes of Priene at the beginning of second century BC.

A Hellenistic castle, theater, Akropolis and Gymnasium were located to the north east of the town.

Teos is very important because it has a lot of work from the Hellenistic and Roman ages. The most important ones among those are Dionysos temple, Agora, Theatre, Odeon, Castle and the port.

Moreover it is understood that the town also had a port.
