Kadiköy Shopping Area (Market Place) with its antique and souvenir shops, second hand bookstores, fishmongers, greengrocers, restaurants, coffee shops and historical buildings like mosques and churches is among the most colorful places at Kadiköy District.
Kadikoy’s social history goes back to 18th century when Turkish and Greek people together started inhibiting here adopting a most colorful lifestyle. It is after the coming in of Armenians in 19th century, that the district turned into a trade and residential area. The place was ornamented with unique architectural pieces of the Otoman Empire.
